Support those who have lost everything by patronizing these local Oklahoma Restaurant’s this weekend when you eat out and help with OKC’s Dine Our For Haiti:
With so many places to choose from please consider these local restauranteurs’ who have joined together and promised to donate 10% of their sales this weekend January 23-26 to the American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund for Haiti. When tragedy strikes every little bit counts, even though it might not sound like much, our city joining together with so many others can make a difference.

If you are like me, you are always trying to think of new ways to entertain the family and explore all that our great city has to offer. Since I was young it has been a family tradition to attend Opening Night, an event put on by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City, to listen to live music and enjoy ringing in the new year to fireworks above the downtown skyline.
Over the past few years downtown Oklahoma City has become the host to numerous events and activities running the entire month of December all the way up to Opening Night. Enter Downtown in December

Make sure to check out the website for Downtown in December, some of the activities are FREE, thats right, FREE; including admission to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Crystal Bridge just to name a few. Kids will love skimming the ice at the Devon Ice Rink, or barreling down the hill at the Chesapeake Snow Tubing Hill at the Bricktown Stadium.
While you are downtown check out anyone of the great local restaurants thriving in Midtown and Automobile Alley.
Here is a list of some of my own personal faves:
- Iguana Mexican Grill
- Irma’s Burgers
- Sara Sara Cupcakes
- McNellies Public House
As some of you may know, my wife, Rachel, had surgery a little over a week ago. In fact I am writing this post from the hotel room where we are staying in Rochester, MN at the Mayo Clinic. To all our friends, family and acquaintances I am thankful for all your prayers, calls and notes. You have been such an encouragement to me. Most likely we will be laying low for the next several weeks, which is why I wanted to put this information out there for you all to enjoy! Go experience the great things our wonderful city has to offer this Christmas Season and know that we will be out there with you next year.
